for 2000, 30in. nitro reproved barrels with 7mm ventilated matt top-ribs, gold-inlaid 'I' and 'II' at the breech ends and with intermediate bead sights, three-piece fore-ends with wooden side fillets, 3in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, both barrels serial numbered to the guns, with additional serial numbers 8L4PW00123 and L4PW009152, hold-open toplevers gold-inlaid 'I' and 'II', manual safeties with integral barrel selector switches and with gold-inlaid 'O', 'U' and 'S' details, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving surrounding game scenes of pheasant and partridge, the undersides with a lone hare, the knuckle marked with the 'M2' designation, the triggerplates signed 'C. ROUFOSSE' (No.I) and 'J.M. MARTENS' (No.II), 14 7/8in. highly-figured pistolgrip stocks (No.II cracked and repaired behind grip), weight 7lb. 12oz. (No.I) ands 7lb. 13oz. (No.II), in their Browning Custom Shop labelled vinyl motor case

Other Notes: We are kindly advised that a number guns of this period are found with a second L4PW prefix serial number to the barrels, the Browning factory having discovered a number of new old stock barrels initially manufactured with American market guns in mind (but never actually fitted) and utilised on newly made guns
